our mission is to encourage our mob to reconnect to culture, country and to community.
We will walk side by side with you, to share our culture and support reconciliation across our country.
Culture Sharing Workshops
Be immersed in culture and experience the sharing of knowledge. Learn traditional cultural knowledge, learn how to identify and protect artefacts and scarred trees. Get an insight to our oral history cultural knowledges and stories!
We create safe spaces for men and women to Yarn and empower each other through men’s and women’s yarning circles. We encourage community members to engage in cultural sharing activities to broaden their appreciation for Aboriginal culture.
Cultural Burning
Bangerang group have undertaken cultural burning on our country for the last three fire seasons, our aim is to relearn and re-introduce traditional fire knowledge into our caring for country methods and ways. We are teaching the next generation the biodiversity and ecological benefits fire management has on our environment, and how we can encourage healing people through healing country.
Bangerang have 5 members of our mob who are fully accredited in prescribed burn training, we can plan, conduct and lead our cultural burns on private property.
Darmanu Dance crew
Bangerang boys dance group the Darmanu boys have been performing all across Bangerang country. Along with smoking ceremonies, welcome to countries and cultural talks performed by Elder Uncle Dozer Atkinson and Elder Uncle Kevin Atkinson.
We acknowledge all of the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, waters and community.
We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
